The role

We are seeking for an enthusiastic team member for the role of Research Administrator to join Digital Footprints Lab (https://digifootprints.co.uk/) at Population Health Sciences at the University of Bristol. The position is funded for one year full time. There is a possibility of part-time employment. This is an exciting opportunity to play important role on supporting the team to unlock shopping history data for population health research.

Using "Smart Data" from supermarket loyalty cards can enhance health and social science research by revealing insights into behaviours like food purchases, budgeting, and health habits. This data has already advanced our understanding of diet, cancer detection, and mental health. Our research aims to integrate Smart Data with Longitudinal Population Studies (LPS), which track participants over many years. By linking these data sources, we can improve data quality and uncover new insights into population behaviours. We will work with the UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration (UK LLC) and five key LPS to understand participants' views on using their data, address ethical concerns, and create effective communication materials. This will help us explore the feasibility of data linkage, establish ethical guidelines, and build a community of researchers for future studies.

The successful candidate will work closely with PI, Dr Anya Skatova and provide effective administrative support to a research programme within Smart Data Accelerator grant funded by UKRI as well as broader activities within Digital Footprints Lab. They will act as first point of contact for enquiries, and as a liaison point for all relevant internal and external contacts. They will provide support to the research team and other project partners to ensure work objectives are met working as part of a team with other staff employed to work on this project and with the Lab. They will be a part of friendly and collegial team at Digital Footprints Lab, as well as work with team’s broader network at Bristol and beyond.
