ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Design and implement effective and inclusive learning schemes and sessions that engage with diversity, promote equality, and accommodate individual learning needs, using a variety of resources, including digital tools.
  • Ensure all learning materials are available on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for student access and engagement. Participate in the development and application of VLE materials and digital learning content, particularly for the Business module.
  • Apply the principles of initial, diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments, using various methods to check learning. Engage in the moderation of assessment materials and student work, and prepare students for evaluations with regular and timely feedback.
  • Monitor and support students through target setting, action planning, and progress checks. Provide extra support through workshops, booster, and revision classes, while referring students for additional learning support where necessary.
  • Keep up-to-date and accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior. Respond promptly to lapses in attendance, punctuality, and application through individual interventions and referrals to appropriate services.
  • Continuously develop subject specialist knowledge to ensure teaching is current. Convey enthusiasm for your specialist area to both staff and students, while engaging in professional development to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Contribute to creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that adheres to Health and Safety procedures. Safeguard student wellbeing, referring them to support services when needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, such as parents, sponsors, and the University. Contribute to student progress reports and participate in relevant Centre events like induction, enrichment activities, and award ceremonies.
  • Follow all Centre quality assurance procedures, such as observations of teaching and learning, audits of teaching materials, program and module evaluations, and subject team performance reviews.
  • Be prepared to operate flexibly, covering for absent colleagues and attending team and Centre meetings as scheduled. Contribute to the cohesive work ethic of the Business Team and Centre as a whole, while participating in any additional activities requested by the leadership.

ABOUT YOU

  • A Cert Ed, PCET or PGCE teaching qualification (working towards, or willing to achieve)
  • Qualified to Degree level or professional equivalent in a relevant subject areas
  • Desirable Postgraduate qualification in a related field.
  • Successful teaching, learning and assessment experience at levels 3 and 4.
  • Successful teaching, learning and assessment experience at level 6 is desirable.
  • Thorough subject knowledge of Business including related fields such as Marketing, Law and Finance.
  • Experience in teaching International Students
  • Experience in supporting students in a pastoral role
  • Experience in developing learning and teaching through digital learning platforms.
