This exciting new position will provide two key roles at BGS, an estates manager for its southern estate and BGS-wide decarbonisation/net zero programme manager. The estates manager role is required to oversee day-to-day management of hard services, soft services and estates project management for BGS’ southern estate and deputise for the Head of Estates. The post-holder will help to ensure that BGS’ southern estate meets modern H&S standards and that there is less disruption to the vital infrastructure needed to deliver its core science strategy. The decarbonisation aspect of the role is needed as BGS has pledged to heat decarbonised by 2030 and operationally Net Zero by 2040. Working across the organisation, the postholder will lead a programme of decarbonisation/net zero related projects across BGS, ensuring that we meet these important internal and government pledges.

About you
