This role is responsible for the management of the in-house maintenance and minor works function that includes a team of 50 staff, comprising of Estates Managers, Assistant Estates Managers, and various trades, including fitters, plumbers, joiners, maintenance assistants, resource schedular and storekeeper.

This is a key role in shaping the strategic direction of minor works and maintenance, planning and organising maintenance activities to support University objectives, including meeting net zero emissions by 2040.

About the person:

The successful applicant will be a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent), educated to degree level with substantial experience of managing a large maintenance team, covering a wide range of activities and trades.

Project managment experience is essential as is experience of controlling and managing an annual works programme in excess of £4m.
