Overall, The Bartlett is number one for Research Power in the built environment field. As part of the Bartlett faculty office, the Research, Impact, Policy, and Engagement (RIPE) team supports, develo ps, and sustains the vibrancy of the Bartlett’s research, engagement and impact environments. RIPE does this by leading on strategic faculty projects, creating and deploying cross-faculty infrastructure, and developing and sharing our knowledge and expertise. Through our services and principles of transparency, equity, clarity, and reflection, RIPE develops and sustains research and impact environments that inspire and empower our colleagues to create important and impactful research and partnerships. We create the conditions for our collective research and impact environments to be equitable, rigorous, connected, and dynamic.

About the role

The post holder will provide high level strategic and operational leadership for the engagement and impact environments of The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment. The post-holder will lead, and project manage key aspects of RIPE’s cross-faculty support infrastructure and strategic projects, cre ating conditions for our environments to be equitable, rigorous, connected, and dynamic. The post-holder will grow and share their expertise in impact and engagement policy, including trends in public policy, industry, innovation and enterprise, and public and community engagement. The post-holder line manages the Research and Impact Data Analyst and works closely with our academic leadership. Other main duties and responsibilities include leading the development of cross-faculty networks focused on enterprise, public policy, and public and community engagement, as well as leading on the creation of training programs, and guidance, and leading the ‘Impact and Engagement’ submission for the Research Excellence Framework. RIPE is undertaking an exciting expansion, with new roles, activities, and focus creating a unique opportunity for the post holder to influence the faculty, and to further develop their own interests and career.

About you

Applicants sho uld have extensive knowledge of key engagement and impact trends including in public policy, innovation and enterprise, and public and community engagement, and how they related to Higher Education and research. We are seeking applicants with experience of managing complex projects within interconnected systems, and who can identify and create processes to deliver these projects. Applicants should have experience of supporting the development of others, and have excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills. Strong organisation skills are essential, and we expect applicants to show a willingness to reflect, develop, and grow within the role.
