The Royal Agricultural University “RAU” has been at the forefront of agricultural education for over 175 years and is globally renowned for its links with industry and courses that are designed to meet the demands of the changing land-based sector. Within the wider Digital Innovation directorate, Digital Operations at the RAU brings together Library and IT support expertise to contribute to the development of digital innovation across the University; enabling academic staff, the enrichment of the curriculum, and both face-to-face and distance learning. The Learning Resources Advisors are part of the Library team, and enable the provision of a high quality supportive and stimulating learning environment and experience to students and staff. They contribute to the development and delivery of an information skills programme, and the development of a range of Library user guides.
The Learning Resources Advisor provides advice and learning support to students in searching for and evaluating learning resources, facilitates learner inductions, and assists colleagues in processing print acquisitions, as well as maintaining the library stock, cataloguing, and managing the inter-library loan service.
The successful applicant will have experience in library systems, with extensive knowledge of how libraries operate. They will be highly customer focused and excellent communicators, with the ability to adapt their approach and communication style to a wide stakeholder base.
The role requires flexibility and adaptability, as well as the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
