The Role
The primary focus of the role is to provide managers and staff with specialist expertise, advice and guidance on all aspects of Health and Safety to help ensure compliance with the legal and University policy requirements.
You will provide advice on day-to-day health and safety risk management with a particular emphasis on fire safety, emergency response, and contribute toward the development, implementation and review of health and safety management systems.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with demonstrable experience of conducting health and safety inspections, managing fire risk and safety management systems. Additionally, applicants will be expected to demonstrate experience of supporting managers and staff with a wide range of risk assessments.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player who is able to handle any resistance sensitively and constructively and work pro-actively with others to help ensure the safety of people and buildings.
Applicants should be qualified to NEBOSH certificate level with a willingness to progress and develop towards chartered membership of IOSH or equivalent. The University uses an online safety management system to record incidents, audits and risk assessments and you should be comfortable in using these along with MS Office to form and communicate safety reports and recommendations.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working from remotely and in the office. This role requires a site presence of, on average, 3 days per week at our Bloomsbury campus
