About the role

We are seeking an experienced scientific lead for our Molecular Biology Laboratories. This role is a key component of the museum’s Science Innovation Platforms and significantly contributes to our research in biological diversity.

About you

You should have extensive experience in molecular biology, with a proven ability to deliver technically challenging experiments and quickly acquire new techniques. A strong interest in applying molecular methods and staying updated with technological advances in sequencing methods is essential. Ideally, the candidate should possess knowledge across a broad taxonomic range, including zoological, botanical, and microbiological sciences. Demonstrated experience in developing projects, managing projects and delivering successful outcomes, excellent team-working, communication, and personal organisation skills, and the ability to provide technical expertise and strategic planning for the development of the molecular biology labs and related research initiatives are crucial.

Hybrid working
