Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Animation or Illustration

We are inviting experienced candidates with international qualifications to apply for a Faculty position in teaching Animation and/ or Illustration, at one of the following ranks, depending on qualification and experience. 

ASSOCIATE LECTURER  – Teacher with academic experience (enrolled in PhD) 

LECTURER – Teacher with academic experience (with PhD) 

SENIOR LECTURER – Teacher with academic and research experience (with PhD) 

In addition, we welcome applications from candidates in any field with significant experience in teaching at the Postgraduate level.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

Illustration is a key focus of the CCP program at BUV, requiring a skilled professional to teach creativity in design and visual communication.

Starting in 2024, Animation will also be introduced as a specialisation, needing an educator proficient in creative animation and its practical applications.

The candidate should have experience, a proven track record in student support, and strong industry knowledge to enhance undergraduate programs in the School of Communications & Creative Industries. 

Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer

(Essential)

• PhD or Doctoral qualifications and Master’s degree in Animation or a related specialist discipline area from an internationally recognized institution
• University or postgraduate teaching experience in art, design or visual communication programmes or related fields where instruction is 100% English.
• Evidence of high-quality publications or other outputs in research or practice.

Associate Lecturer

(Essential)

• Currently enrolled in a PhD or Doctoral programme at an internationally recognised institution.
• Master’s degree in Animation or a related specialist discipline area from an internationally recognized institution
• Ideally 3 years university or undergraduate teaching experience in art, design or visual communication programmes or related fields where instruction is 100% English. 

All Positions

• Experience of teaching, curriculum development and quality assurance and enhancement in an HE environment.
• Evidence of a positive impact at a discipline or programme level beyond own teaching
• Higher education teaching qualification, recognition, or accreditation, or willingness to work towards this.
• Sufficient breadth or depth of professional knowledge in the specialist discipline to develop teaching programmes and the provision of learning support.
• Knowledge of higher education and ability to use a range of up-to-date delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.
• Clean police record
• Understanding of equal opportunity issues as they may impact on academic content and issues relating to student need. 

Please note that original certificates and degrees will be required on arrival in Vietnam (degree and teaching certificates; CRB or other police checks) are required for work permit purposes.
