Applications are invited for the above post based at the University of Nottingham, University Park, with a base in the School of Humanities, Department of Philosophy.

The purpose of this role will be to work on the Wellcome-funded project: ‘Project EPIC: Epistemic Injustice in Healthcare’ at the University of Nottingham in undertaking research and other activities such as organising workshops, networking events, contributing to undergraduate teaching, writing sole-authored and co-authored academic papers, co-editing collections, and participating in wider project activities. Project EPIC includes staff at the universities of Nottingham, Bristol, Birmingham, and several other institutions within the UK and Europe. This is a three-year, full-time position.

The successful candidate will participate regularly in research events and teaching at Nottingham, as well as project events at Bristol and Birmingham. The role-holder will also have a Career Development Plan.

Applications are welcome from those who have completed a PhD in Philosophy preferably with specific interests in philosophy of illness and psychiatry (incl. phenomenology), philosophy of medicine and healthcare, healthcare studies, social epistemology, epistemic injustice studies. Experience of previous work and success win securing externally funded research, public engagement, and collaborative research is desirable, as is experience of co-authoring and co-editing academic publications and understanding of impact as defined by the UK REF.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term, full-time (36.25 hours per week) basis, commencing 1st January 2025 until 31st December 2027. Job share arrangements may be considered.
