About this role

Graphic design, in its many forms, makes an increasingly powerful contribution to the cultural and economic life of contemporary society. It exists in the public domain, is an indicator of current cultural thinking and is a catalyst for social, cultural, and political change. Our course explores the changing concept of graphic design and the role of the graphic designer in society and the professional world through designer as curator, author, craftsperson, editor, educator, collaborator, agitator, and more.

We are looking for an experienced graphic design specialist and educator, with a contemporary outlook on the changing subject to complement and extend our existing team, and to contribute to the high-quality teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the College.

About you

You will be qualified to postgraduate level (or near to completion) in a relevant subject, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience from industry, hold a higher education teaching qualification and HEA Fellowship, or a commitment to achieve these within two years of appointment.

You will be able to demonstrate subject knowledge in graphic design and its broader context through practice and theory. You will have a track record of inspirational teaching in higher education, ideally with a practice-orientated approach, or if from industry, be able to evidence the development of other professionals through high quality presentation and facilitation skills.
