The Role- Refugee Law Clinic Manager - Maternity Cover

This an exciting opportunity to manage the University of London’s (UoL) Refugee Law Clinic, an innovative clinic that delivers Clinical Legal Education (CLE) for UoL students and engages with a number of leading commercial law firms.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with expertise in project management and a strong interest in refugee law to continue the work of the clinic over a 10-month period (04/11/2024 – 29/08/2025).

The project has been developed in the context of gaps in legal aid and other legal provision, and the clinic assists asylum seekers in need of legal advice and assistance to prepare ‘further submissions’ where they are appeal rights exhausted.

The successful candidate will take on the management of the project, including coordinating the volunteer placements and case referrals, liaising with stakeholders, managing the finances of the project, supporting the clinic training programme, and seeking out opportunities for the clinic to grow its networks and funding. The Clinic Manager will also lead on the clinic’s outreach focussed work.

In addition, the Clinic Manager will support the Refugee Law Initiative (the linked academic centre) with financial and managerial support, and practical assistance in terms of coordinating the RLI blog and newsletters.

This is a great chance to contribute to a highly impactful project working towards increasing access to justice for some of London’s most vulnerable communities, while supporting the training and development of the next generation of social justice lawyers.
