We wish to recruit demonstrators (both anatomical and clinical) for our anatomy teaching sessions for the academic year 2024-2025. The successful individuals will be prepared to work on a bank basis. This is a fixed term one year post; suitable for individuals who would like to enhance their knowledge of anatomy and gain teaching experience in higher education. If successful, you are expected to attend a training day to inform you on sound teaching practices, especially in relation to the Human Tissue Act. You will be paid £14.31 (set by the University of London) for each hour that you teach, plus one extra hour for preparation (which includes arriving 30 minutes before the session and tidying your station).

Pre-recorded videos should include the following: 

  • Educational background, anatomy module/course grades and teaching experience (if not applicable explain why you would like to teach and/or what you hope to gain from teaching) ~ maximum of one minute. 
  • Your teaching plan - How you aim to facilitate student learning during the Anatomy Suite; state what strategies you will use and/or which aspects of anatomy need to be emphasised ~ maximum of three minutes.
  • Teaching presentation on the following learning objective: ‘Describe the extra-cranial course and terminal branches of the facial nerve. Additionally, explain the motor function of this nerve and its clinical significance’ ~ maximum of six minutes.
