UCL Innovation & Enterprise’s Business and Innovation Partnerships team (BIP) are specialists who partner with academic and industrial leadership to develop and deliver highly impactful knowledge exchange programmes and collaborations that transform people, places and sectors.

UCL Grand Challenges is a genuinely groundbreaking programme which brings together many of our world-leading academics. It aims to maximise the positive impact of UCL‘s research, education, and innovation on the biggest challenges facing society. It funds mission-driven interdisciplinary research, supports community-building and knowledge mobilisation, and catalyses innovation by piloting solutions within UCL and our partners.

The Grand Challenges programme also contributes to UCL’s Sustainable Development Goals initiative and informs the UK Sustainable Development Solutions Network which UCL hosts on behalf of UK universities.

About the role

In this high profile and exciting job, you'll support the leadership of UCL’s Grand Challenges (GC) with the innovation and business partnership aspects of this groundbreaking programme, and the associated Sustainable Development Goals initiative.

You'll play a significant role in supporting I&E and GC leadership in the development and delivery of UCL’s strategic approach to partnering with business, public and non-profit sectors to advance UCL’s contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals via the Grand Challenge Programme.

About you

To do this job you'll need:

-A degree in a key subject related to policy, society, sustainability, development, economics or another relevant area
-Good understanding of the UN Sustainable Development agenda, and current knowledge of 2 or more SDG topic areas
-Significant experience of managing innovation, enterprise or partnership activities
-Significant experience of working in, or closely with, the private sector
-Experience of building cross-sector partnerships to deliver social impact goals, and understanding of the challenges involved in such collaborations
