Kingston School of Art is seeking an experienced and highly motivated artist or designer to join our Printmaking, Letterpress, and Book Arts Workshop. The successful candidate will work as part of a team alongside fellow technicians.

The specific focus of this role is to support the Letterpress and Book Arts facilities so, ideally, the successful candidate should have practical working knowledge, skills, and experience in these areas. However, we are open to considering applications from a broad range of printmaking backgrounds, so relevant experience and skills in other printmaking techniques may be sufficient, provided the candidate has the willingness and aptitude to upskill, learn and adapt to Letterpress and Book Arts knowledge and skills.

The Person

The successful candidate will be a creative individual with an excellent understanding of contemporary Printmaking, Letterpress and Book Arts. They will work with students from foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels, as well as technical and academic colleagues.

Experience facilitating Printmaking techniques in an education institution is essential for this role. Additionally, the successful candidate will have to be an exceptional communicator with excellent time management skills, and have a proven ability to work collaboratively, and to encourage experimentation to promote a high standard student work.

The Faculty

Kingston School of Art seeks an experienced artist or designer to join our Printmaking, Letterpress, and Book Arts Workshop as a Technician. The role focuses on supporting Letterpress and Book Arts facilities, so experience in these areas is ideal. We are open to candidates from broader Printmaking backgrounds if willing to upskill. The ideal candidate has strong experience in educational settings, excellent communication, time management skills, and a collaborative spirit to inspire students

This is a part time, permanent position with a starting salary of £25,816.80 per annum (80% pro-rata of £32,271.00).
