Acaster Lloyd is a scientific research consultancy based in Central London led by co-founders Sarah Acaster and Andrew Lloyd. Acaster Lloyd has grown to 35 people since it was founded in 2016, we have team members across the UK but most are based in London. We undertake consultancy and research for biotech and pharmaceutical companies globally in the field of clinical outcomes assessment/ patient reported outcomes. We work with our clients to understand the burden of disease and the value of medicines and other health technologies from the patients’ perspective.

Our business continues to grow organically due to the good quality work that our high performing team deliver. Our client base continues to expand and we have a lot of repeat business due to our significant contribution to science, expertise in health psychology and our collaborative and supportive approach.

THE ROLE

Research Associate, Senior Research Associate, Research Manager and Senior Research Manager

  • Planning and completing literature reviews (searches, reviewing abstracts, critical appraisal, data extraction and summary)
  • Designing studies and then analysing, interpreting and reporting data from them
  • Report writing, preparing presentations, dissemination work
  • Preparing and submitting ethics applications
  • Engaging with the scientific community through dissemination at conferences and in publications.

TECHNICAL SKILLS 

  • Strong quantitative skills. This could include use of Stata/R/SAS to undertake regression modelling, psychometric analyses, and/or choice modelling.
  • AND/OR
  • Strong qualitative skills in planning and completing interviews, qualitative analysis using software such as MAXQDA.

ABOUT YOU 

  • You have a bachelor’s degree (or local equivalent), typically in social sciences.
  • You would also have a post-graduate qualification in health psychology, health economics, epidemiology or applied statistics or a related field (e.g. MSc, PhD).
  • Experience in working in a related role for at least one year either in industry or academia for Associate roles and three years for Manager roles.
  • Experience of conducting health research and working on research projects.
  • Experience and interest in design of research studies and analysis of patient outcomes data.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team with a high degree of self motivation.
  • Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable UK laws, rules and regulations.
  • Someone who wants to influence their own development • Someone who is looking for the opportunity to build their research skills.
  • Someone who is keen to work with and support others in our research projects

  • Salary dependent on experience.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • 1st Stage: 20 minute chat with a Director (usually via Zoom)
  • 2nd Stage: This is followed by a remote in tray task, the task requires access to a computer/laptop that has MS Office applications. We understand that not everyone will have access to these resources and if that is the case please let us know during the interview process.
  • 3rd Stage: This will be face to face at our offices in Holborn, starting with a structured interview with two Directors. The 3rd stage also includes a more informal meet and greet with members of the project team.
