Based in the Department of International Relations, the post holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in high quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department, and participating in the Department and wider School activities.

All candidates must have expertise and research interests in International Relations, with a specialism in China in International Relations (broadly defined).  They must show a clear and viable strategy for future top-quality research.  The successful candidate must be able to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses on International Relations, and on China in International Relations.

Candidates will need a completed PhD in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field by the post start date. Candidates should also have a proven or developing track record of publications in refereed international journals or with highly respected book publishers, and have a clear, well-developed and viable strategy for research that has the potential to be world leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour.

Successful candidates should have excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across the School.
