About the role 

The Developer role sits within the Delivery & Operations pillar within DDaT. As a Developer within the Platforms & Applications group, this position involves the development, configuration, support, and maintenance of software, applications, services, and integrations for a given technology area.

Working professionally and collaboratively with colleagues, business stakeholders, business analysts, and project managers, the Developer will develop, configure, support, and maintain software, applications, services, and integrations that deliver the required business outcomes.

Capable of operating across a wide-ranging technology stack including SaaS, PaaS, Commercial off the Shelf, as well as in-house custom developed solutions, Developers have the knowledge and skills necessary to develop software systems to a high standard. They work in line with the agreed project portfolio while using and sharing good practices, processes, and methods.

Acting as the primary contact for these systems, the Developer will escalate complex issues as needed and adhere to IT Service Management and Development Lifecycle standards. This role ensures technical documentation is up-to-date and collaborates with vendors and development teams to execute updates and upgrades, adhering to rigorous Change Management processes.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) fixed term basis with an expected end date of 31/12/2026.

About you 

You will have relevant experience in the following:

  • Building sustainable relationships across key IT and University wide stakeholders.
  • working knowledge of IT Service Management principles and experience.
  • Designing, developing, and delivering high quality, secure IT systems and servicer.
