The Head of Digital Business Programmes will provide the leadership and vision to deliver excellent student outcomes; quality assurance and enhancement that is commended by the QAA. You will also support the development of an innovative and quality assured digital pedagogy for Study Group. You will be responsible for leading and supporting our digital business programme team. Reporting to the Head of Study Group Digital Learning, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and be accountable for students achieving the progression requirements for recognising partner universities.

You will take responsibility for current SGDL Digital International Foundation Programmes: Business Management (Level 3) and Digital Pre-Masters: Business Management (Level 6) programmes. You will also lead the development of the academic tutorial programme for Digital Business programmes. You will also lead any new programmes which are added to the Digital Academic Programme portfolio which include humanities or social science subjects. This is a remote homeworking role. Teaching may be required (for sickness cover, or if there are vacancy gaps, or for tutor development support).

The Head of Digital Business Programmes will have recent successful programme management within secondary, further or higher education in business subjects. You will have academic line management experience. You will also have proven ability to engage collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. You will be an excellent communicator with a passion for digital learning and global education.

ABOUT THE ROLE  

  • Communicate SGDL’s vision and implement actions to ensure continuous improvement which enables SGDL students to continue to achieve outstanding outcomes.
  • Communicate SGDL’s vision for the development of programmes to meet the overall strategic aims of Study Group Digital Learning and showcase the relevant programmes as an effective, attractive, and high-quality Higher Education pathway option. This will help maximise opportunities for student recruitment.
  • Contribute to planning and development including human resources; academic development; learning, teaching and assessment; and academic quality assurance and enhancement.
  • Provide effective and efficient academic management and co-ordination of staff resources working closely with the relevant SGDL team members.
  • Take responsibility for academic standards, the quality of learning opportunities, the accuracy and completeness of published information, ensuring that they are managed appropriately and in accordance with the policies and procedures of SGDL.
  • Contribute to analysing data and feedback from a wide variety of sources to monitor progress towards progression targets, planning and implementing remedial actions where necessary.
  • Teach classes if required for sickness cover, or if there are vacancy gaps, or for tutor development support. The hours may vary depending on operational needs but there will not be weekly teaching commitments.
  • Work closely with the other SGDL team members and network staff to ensure that appropriate, current and relevant subject, academic skills, digital skills, and language development are integrated and embedded.

ABOUT YOU  

  • A bachelor’s degree and a post graduate qualification. Either one or both qualifications should be in a business subject. (Essential)
  • A teaching qualification (Essential)
  • Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment (Essential)
  • Experience of leading a team to achieve high levels of student academic performance and outcomes against agreed targets (Essential)
  • Experience of online only delivery (Essential)
  • Experience of using virtual learning platforms and digital applications for programme delivery (Essential)
  • Experience of leading teacher training or CPD initiatives
  • Experience of partnership working in the education sector
