Student Admissions and Access is looking for a Postgraduate Widening Participation Assistant to work with the team on high-profile, innovative projects that aim to improve access to postgraduate study for applicants from underrepresented backgrounds. We work closely with colleagues across the University and Colleges, in addition to other institutions and external partners. As the work of our team continues to develop, we are hiring an assistant to provide administrative support to the team manager and project coordinators.

Our team is currently working on a number of exciting projects, including research internships, an applicant support programme and collaborative admissions work with other institutions. You will be working with the team on these projects by assisting with the planning and delivery of events, providing administrative support to working groups and disseminating information to stakeholders.

As Postgraduate Widening Participation Assistant, you will have excellent communication skills, and creative ideas about how we can share information about our work with prospective applicants, colleagues and the wider sector. You will also work closely with the postgraduate ambassadors and mentors who support our programmes. As our postgraduate widening participation work develops, we are introducing processes and systems to ensure that we are efficient in our work, and you will play an important part in helping to establish these.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for postgraduate widening participation projects
  • Facilitate the PG WP team's work with University departments and Colleges
  • Engage with students and prospective applicants from underrepresented backgrounds
  • General administrative support for the PG WP team

The University operates a hybrid working policy, with staff able to benefit from working both in the office and at home. Student Admissions and Access is based within the Student Services Centre on the New Museums Site in central Cambridge.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 November 2026 in the first instance.
