London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Lecturer in Histo/Cellular Pathology (Biomedical Science). The post holder will become a staff member in the School of Applied Sciences, Division of Human Sciences and join the biomedical science subject group team. This vibrant School, with over 1200 students and 80 staff, aims to provide world-leading education underpinned by outstanding fundamental and applied research.

This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to carry out core activities in three areas: learning and teaching; research, knowledge transfer and professional impact; and administration, management, leadership, and citizenship. The post-holder will be an academic staff member contributing to both the academic portfolio and the growing research / enterprise opportunities in the Division of Human Sciences.

About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills and experience:

  • Have recently obtained a PhD in Cell/Molecular Pathology, or in a relevant field OR MSc and Professional qualification in Histology and Cell Pathology.
  • Evidence of ability to contribute to the ongoing research of the existing research group and will lead to REF output.
  • Experience in teaching histology/cell/ molecular pathology or relevant field at the Higher Education level that demonstrates excellence and innovation; the ability to motivate and engage students, to challenge them intellectually and to facilitate their learning using a variety of learning and teaching methods.
  • Evidenced technical experience with cell pathology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and relevant molecular methods.
  • Connections within the NHS, private healthcare sector or industry to help secure clinical/industry student placements.
