Are you looking for a flexible, part-time, opportunity to work in a scientific technical support team? The Biological Services Aquarium (BSA) is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic employee to help feed and clean the facility. You will have a crucial role supporting the existing, and highly experienced, aquatics team. The role involves technical support such as fish feeding, husbandry, and cleaning the facility. Additional weekend work is required as part of a team rota.

We are seeking a colleague with animal husbandry and/or scientific technical knowledge to deliver research support at a fundamental level. Proven experience in relevant areas is desirable but if you feel you would suit the position and have transferable skills, then do feel free to apply. Equally important are the abilities to work within a team and to think, and plan, workload independently. Furthermore, the skill to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders is essential.

The Job Description details what the role entails and should be referred to in your application. We would like you to explain how you match the criteria because this will be the focus of the recruitment process. If you would like to discuss the role informally before deciding whether to apply, then you can speak to the BSA team by email at bsa-group@sheffield.ac.uk.
