Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity is looking for a part time specialist Disability Advisor to support students with a range of disabilities including long term health conditions, visual impairment, neurodiversity and physical disabilities, whilst specialising in D/deafness.
The post is 18.5 hours per week over 3 days.
The successful applicant will provide individual support, advice and guidance to disabled applicants and students at all levels of academic study, whilst supporting the development of University based services aimed at improving inclusivity for all students.
They will be fluent in British Sign language whilst being able to work well in a multi-disciplinary team, confident in multi-tasking and time managing a varied workload. They will have a thorough understanding of the responsibilities of Higher Education Institutions regarding The Equality Act 2010 and a commitment to the Social Model of disability.
