About the role

The successful applicant will be required to engage in structural design tutoring in a studio environment, as part of an interdisciplinary team with architects and building services/environmental designers (1 day a week in term time). Engaging with our amazing students and helping them develop exciting and dynamic design solutions.

The Industry Tutor will mainly be involved in teaching Structural Design to years 2, 3 & 4 of the cohort and helping the students integrate structural design in their projects within the Design Practice Module.

The posts will require the candidates to divide their time between the Bloomsbury and UCL East campuses, as the timetable requires.

About you

In order to be successful as an Industry Tutor, you will need to have:
• Professional practice experience.
• Ability to develop and deliver teaching in the studio environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, with students, academic and administrative staff at all levels.
• Excellent knowledge of analysis and design strategies and tools applied to structural and architectural engineering.
• First class undergraduate degree and an MSc in structural/architectural engineering or relevant disciplines.
• Being supportive, respectful and kind to others around you.
• Being committed to tackling bullying, harassment and discriminatory behaviour in teams.
• Listening to others and supporting them with compassion.
