Directorate

As part of the Learning, Teaching & Student Experience Directorate at the University, our vision is to provide an inclusive, integrated, and innovative service to students, University staff, external partners and other stakeholders. We are looking for someone who strives to deliver that vision and to meaningfully make a difference and have a positive impact on our student community with a core focus on inclusivity and passion for supporting disabled students to thrive in higher education.

What you will be doing:

  • You will provide professional and expert leadership at a significant operational level for the service and lead the team to deliver an outstanding student experience. 
  • You will be responsible for working in partnership with academic colleagues and other professional support teams across the University in identifying opportunities for, and evaluating provision for disabled students, and providing accurate and up-to date management information. 
  • You will advise colleagues on the policy implications of relevant legislation and guidance to ensure both institutional compliance and to support inclusive practice.

Qualifications/ experience:

  • Degree qualification
  • A higher degree or professional qualification
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and strong decision-making skills, with previous experience of line management or leading a team.
  • Supporting learners with complex & varying needs including through management of casework and multiagency working.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation & best practices, with experience of writing policies or strategies and experience putting this into practice in managing service-based operations.
