We are looking to recruit a Research Fellow to join the IMPlementation and Capacity building Team (IMPaCT), which works in partnership with NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast (ARC NWC) and its member organisations including regional universities, NHS, local authorities and third sector organisations. This is a fixed term position until 31/3/2026 due to limited funding

The Research Fellow will work within IMPaCT to deliver health technology assessments (including primary research and evidence syntheses). The post holder will contribute to research capacity building activities with ARC NWC member organisations and will take responsibility for high-quality research and implementation studies and other scholarly activity.

Essential for this role are knowledge of education and training for research within a health and/or social care environment and a track record of successful project management, including experience of setting up health and/or social care research and development projects, experience of research governance processes and collaborating with other agencies.

The Research Fellow should have a proven track record of research demonstrated through conference presentations and a record of nationally recognised academic refereed publications consistent with REF entry. The post holder will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the skills to conduct research on sensitive topics and to write reports and present data at meetings and conferences.

A PhD (or equivalent) in a health, social care, economics or statistics is essential to the post, as well as research skills including literature retrieval, data collection and analysis, evidence synthesis, and critical appraisal.
