Business Transformation (BT) at the University of St Andrews is seeking to appoint a Project Officer (Libraries & Museums) to support the delivery of strategic change initiatives, and undertake project management and business analysis activities for low and medium complexity projects, across the University’s Libraries and Museums services. BT provides expertise in portfolio, programme and project management, business analysis, change management and continuous improvement.

Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience in the provision of a wide range of project management and business analysis services alongside a good understanding of the services that libraries and museums provide to support learning, teaching and research in higher education institutions. Experience of continuous improvement or change management roles, along with any supporting qualifications, would be an advantage.

Development will be provided for anyone looking to move from an academic or operations focused role within Higher Education or for candidates who have a background in change but who are new to Higher Education.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the services provided by libraries and museums to support (in person and online) learning, teaching, research and student experience activities within a university.
  • Knowledge of project management/business analysis techniques and other relevant tools.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work co-operatively with multi-disciplinary groups/teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to distil large amounts of data into concise recommendations for action.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to show initiative and develop novel solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to work confidently with all levels in the organisation.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • High level of influencing and motivational skills.
