Our vision is to improve carbon capture sequestration (CCS) technologies to support moves towards net zero. The objective of this collaborative Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP) is to transfer knowledge of specific mathematical approaches from the academic partner at Heriot-Watt University to OpenGoSim that will enable the development of a new simulator, to inform the carbon dioxide injection process.
You will be working on challenging tasks to add new physics modelling capabilities to the simulator as well as resolving the daily issues faced by clients when simulating carbon capture and storage (CCS) and underground hydrogen storage (UHS) problems. You will work along an experienced team at OpenGoSim and have weekly meetings with the academic team from the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Heriot-Watt University. Furthermore, you will be part of the newly formed knowledge exchange centre M-DICE (Mathematics Driven Innovation Centre) at Heriot-Watt University.
