ECA (Education Centre of Australia) is a large, diverse private education group, delivering a portfolio of programmes and services as follows: English language and vocational qualifications, pathways, UG and PG degrees, internships, online programmes, and managed campuses on behalf of its HEI partners. Established in 2006 and headquartered in Sydney, ECA has grown to an annual admission of over 8,500 students from over 40 countries. Students are largely sourced from ECA’s own recruitment offices in 7 regions and from its network of some 1,200+ education agents around the world. Until quite recently all ECA’s HEI partnerships were with Australian universities (Victoria, Canberra, Swinburne and Tasmania) with programme delivery at centres in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. ECA has launched a partnership in the UK with London Metropolitan University delivering pathways programmes. 

About the Role 

The Admissions team leader:  

  • Is responsible for managing the admissions team on a day-to-day basis to ensure agreed service levels are met.
  • Will work closely with staff across multiple teams including but not limited to Student Recruitment, Marketing and Student Services across all brands.
  • Is a key member of the admissions team supporting the success of the student recruitment process.   

The main functions of the role include:  

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders including university partners.
  • Support the management of the risk profile for all UK brands in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain market knowledge.
  • Ensure all admissions processes are completed within the agreed SLA’s and are processed accurately first time every time. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Set daily targets for the UK admissions team.
  • Monitor daily targets to ensure they are met.
  • Take corrective action to address reasons for targets not being met.
  • Review visa rejections to determine training needs (staff or agents).
  • Monitor visa tracking outcomes.
  • Support the development of the admissions team.
  • Create reference material to ensure consistency in decision making within the admissions team.
  • Identify training needs of staff.
  • Deliver training to staff as needed.
  • Provide reports to partner universities and other stakeholders as required. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in: 
    • the international education sector.
    • an international admissions team for the UK.
    • academic assessment.
    • leading a team.
  • Working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of education qualifications and how to assess them.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Academic assessment of international qualifications.
  • Ability to learn / use new student management systems easily.
  • A second language (desirable).
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
