Applications are invited for an experienced Research Administrator to join the Research Faculty Office at the Earlham Institute.

Background:

This is a dynamic and highly varied role; supporting the administration within the Research Faculty Office with the special responsibility of supporting the ELIXIR-UK co-ordination office hosted at the Earlham Institute.

ELIXIR coordinates and develops life science resources across Europe so that researchers can more easily find, analyse and share data, exchange expertise, and implement best practices. ELIXIR -UK is a consortium of 28 organisations. The role of ELIXIR-UK is to enable and coordinate the UK activity in the delivery of the ELIXIR 4 year plan, to enable UK participation in ELIXIR communities and other ELIXIR projects funded by Horizon Europe. At a national level we are building communities of practice, providing training and coordinating training resources, as well as advocating for FAIR data and open science.

The role the main purpose is to support the administration within the Research Faculty Office and the ELIXIR-UK co-ordination office.

The ELIXIR-UK coordination office is essential for developing and maintaining engagement of ELIXIR within the UK community, there currently 28 member organisations. This includes processing payments of funding from the node to the member organisations, providing secretariat for its governance structures, running dedicated outreach activities such as workshops and town meetings and enabling the participation of members at ELIXIR events such as all hands meetings and hackathons.


The post holder will work closely with the ELIXIR-UK coordination node staff to deliver the nodes commitments and project manage the submission of the next 5-year business case for continued long-term success.

The ideal candidate:

Applicants should have excellent experience in administration and a working knowledge of project management productivity tools. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to draft reports and/or business cases are essential. Candidates should be resilient, adaptable, organised and able to work well as part of a team. Event management experience would be an advantage.

Additional information:

Salary on appointment will be within the range £34,950 to £39,750 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.  This is a full-time post for a contract of 12 months. We also welcome applications from candidates seeking part time and/or alternative working patterns.
