This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative partnership between the University of the West of England (UWE) and DistGen, under the UK Government sponsored Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme. The project aims to develop of an automated and evidence-based planning platform for future delivery of new and refurbished wind turbines.

The position is a 36-month fixed term contract, which includes management and business skills training provided by the national KTP programme and a further £2,000 per annum dedicated training budget tailored towards your personal development. You will also receive specialist support from the College of Arts, Technology and Environment Academic team at UWE Bristol

Distributed Generation (DistGen) started in 2005 with the express intent of making a positive difference in the world by democratising the ownership of generating assets and sharing the benefits as locally as possible, reducing carbon emissions and improving UK energy security. DistGen is a small renewable energy company that operates wind turbines around the UK, as well as working with Hydro, Microgrid, Solar, & Batteries.

About you:

  • You have a background in renewable energy and/or planning development
  • You can think logically and develop creative approaches to problem solving
  • You can work independently and maintain effective communication
  • You are enthusiastic, hardworking and have strong attention to detail

Qualifications required: Relevant degree in planning, sustainability, environmental management, built environment or sustainable/renewable energy engineering (or similar engineering) or a renewable energy related degree

Based at:  This role will consist of mainly remote working with easy access to London preferred. The Associate will also be expected to attend regular meetings in Bristol.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 36 months, working 37 hours per week.
