We are looking to appoint two postdoctoral research assistants join the multi-disciplinary team supporting Trials Delivery Framework within Dementias Platform UK (https://www.dementiasplatform.uk/) with the delivery of the READ-OUT Programme.The READ-OUT Programme is a £4.5m project aimed at establishing the utility of blood biomarkers of dementia in the care of people with cognitive disorders. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
The posts are for a fixed term (funded to 31 March 2027 with the possibility of extension)
The University has introduced a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 a year (pro rata) for all staff on grades 1–10 of the main salary and grading structure which will be implemented in the September 2024 payroll.
You will be instrumental in the development, write up and analysis of the READ-OUT Programme of work including trial centre selection and set up, ongoing management of the relationships with the trial sites, and database management and development. As the Programme studies start you will be troubleshooting trial delivery issues, as well as collecting and analysing data.
You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD/DPhil in biomedical sciences or a related discipline with a substantial statistics component, along with familiarity with statistical packages such as R, STATA or SAS and the ability to communicate statistical information in a non-technical way. With good organisational skills you should be able to manage you own research and associated activities. Postdoctoral experience in trials management would be desirable as would experience of contributing to research proposals, protocols and grant applications.
