The role

We are currently looking for a Senior Estates Assistant to join our team within the Campus Division. The successful candidate will supervise a team of Estate Assistants who undertake a broad range of responsibilities, including some reception duties, delivering, sorting and collecting of post, checking room bookings and performing fire compliance testing. They also complete general manual handling tasks, including setting up rooms for meetings or events, removing rubbish where appropriate and ensuring facilities are accessible, well-maintained, and fit for purpose. The team is based across several buildings, so the role is roaming and requires Estate Assistant duties as described above.

What will you be doing?

As part of Campus Operations, you will undertake induction training with new staff and be the first point of call for staff within the zone. You will take an active role in all operational tasks and organise, schedule, and plan portering work daily for all buildings within the designated zone. You will also arrange for cover, where necessary, for lunch breaks, sickness, annual leave, etc.

Undertake and schedule fire compliance testing for buildings within the zone, such as fire door checks, fire panel checks, emergency lighting tests, etc., ensuring that all testing log sheets are in place and up to date.

You should apply if

  • You are a proactive person with good problem-solving skills
  • You have supervisory experience within the customer service environment
  • You can demonstrate good IT skills
  • You are educated to a minimum of NVQ or equivalent level
  • You use your initiative and work autonomously

Working pattern:

35 hours per week, Mon – Fri, 2 pm – 10 pm
