CGHR Overview

CGHR thinks critically and innovatively to foster citizen voice and solidarity-building towards a just, inclusive and better world. In our 15 years, we have learnt that the crucial spaces for new thinking and action on justice, well-being and citizen voice challenges lie at intersections and in interactions between practice and scholarship, between disciplines, and between individuals and institutions across the world.

CGHR is run by Co-Directors Dr Ella McPherson (Sociology) and Professor Sharath Srinivasan (POLIS) and has, at any time, at least 1-2 postdoctoral researchers associated with it. Beyond, it is an active network of faculty and researchers from the Departments of POLIS and Sociology and across the University, who engage in its work on an ad hoc basis. In addition to research on priority themes, the Centre holds a wide range of events, seminars and dissemination activities and has regular involvement with practitioners as well as academic colleagues.
