We are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to support a range of activities within the University’s busy specialist accommodation.
The post holder will provide first line technical support in a diverse range of laboratory settings across both Schools, including the Development & Teaching Kitchens and Art studios, as well as the Chemistry, Microbiology laboratories, and clinical accommodation. Although you are expected to be experienced working in a laboratory environment, training in new areas and laboratory techniques will be given and there is an expectation that you will eventually help with providing cover in these areas. You will carry out a diverse range of general duties within the school. This will require a proactive approach, creativity and initiative, the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The successful applicant will hold a minimum of a degree in a Science Subject, preferably with experience of working in laboratory setting and a positive and flexible approach to work. Knowledge of laboratory health & safety practices is essential.
