The role
Are you a confident communicator and enjoy building and developing relationships with students, academics, and organisations?
Are you passionate about improving the student experience and supporting opportunities for students to develop their skills?
Do you have project management and organisation skills and enjoy leading and improving projects?
If this is appealing, you should apply to the Professional Liaison Network (PLN). We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who wants to make a difference to the student experience at the University of Bristol Business School. You will be part of a team that develops real-world experiences for students so they can apply their disciplines outside the classroom, and as a result, understand the impact they can make with their degree. This enables students to gain practical experiences, build the skills they need to thrive after graduation, and gain insight into different career paths, to see which is the best fit for them. Activities include professional mentoring, events, and in-curriculum ‘engaged learning’ such as placements, and applied research projects.
What will you be doing?
The role will have sole responsibility for planning, organising and delivering a wide range of activities for the Business School, and working collaboratively and flexibly with the other team members - deputising for the Professional Liaison Officer as necessary. This will involve taking responsibility for managing student projects and working collaboratively with industry partners for Business School postgraduate taught programmes (from charities and small businesses to governmental, and in Bristol, across the UK and Internationally), ensuring active engagement from all.
You should apply if
The role will be varied, including elements of communications (internally and externally), events planning and delivery, relationship building and management, scheme planning and delivery, and project management. You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Above all, we are looking for someone who can make a positive and proactive contribution – this is a fast-moving area, and we are looking for someone with ideas they want to input.
The selection process will include an interview and a short presentation to the panel on how you will organise and deliver industry projects.
