We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Assistant to undertake work in cell-free genomics at the new Heart and Lung Research Institute (Cambridge Biomedical Campus) working with Dr Tian Zhao and Prof Ziad Mallat. The work will involve processing, sorting, and analysing samples and will involve next-generation sequencing (NGS).
The Role
The successful applicant will join a motivated team who are making a significant contribution to translational biomedical research at the University of Cambridge with the opportunity to help grow the range of studies in immune-cardiovascular science. There will be an exciting opportunity to gain in-depth experience in cell-free genomics and other techniques in the laboratory including single-cell RNA sequencing and immune receptor analysis.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have experience in cell-free genomics, NGS, and downstream bioinformatics workflow. They will have a qualification (BSc level or equivalent) in a relevant scientific subject and ideally have experience of scientific work in a biomedical laboratory (preferably in CL2 laboratories and/or those following quality-assured processes). The ability to learn advanced technologies, operate complex biomedical equipment, trouble-shoot problems, team working, and a flexible approach to work are essential criteria.
