The University of Worcester is a high achieving, award-winning, dynamic institution set within an inclusive and engaged community. The number one University in England for gender equality, according to the last three years of the Times Higher Education’s University Impact Rankings, with multiple accolades for teaching quality, inclusion, contribution to the community, and environmental sustainability, the University has been shortlisted as Times Higher Education University of the Year three times in recent years. One of the best Universities for health education, Worcester has created the distinctive Three Counties Medical School, aiming to widen access to careers in healthcare and retain graduates in the local area, which has just welcomed its first cohort of graduate entry MBChB medical students.
This is an exciting time to join the University, as the Physician Associate MSc. Programme, which has been running successfully for several years, is now part of the Three Counties Medical School, aligning the GMC regulated programmes. Based in our state-of-the-art purpose-built healthcare campus, you will be utilising innovative teaching methodologies and working as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the educational needs of our students, alongside other healthcare academic and clinical academic staff in the Medical School and wider College of Health and Science.
We are seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer and Course Lead with the vision, commitment, academic ambition and capacity to contribute to the delivery of Physician Associate education.
We are looking for a clinician from an appropriate discipline (Physician Associate, Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health or a doctor) who has a passion for developing and teaching healthcare students both academically and, in preparing to practise, and will need to be confident in delivering the underpinning knowledge they require to graduate from our highly valued PA programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in educational scholarship to develop their educational skills with further opportunities available to help your development as an academic in Higher Education, including support in gaining a recognised teaching qualification and a CPD programme to help you achieve Fellowship of ‘Advance HE’.
The post is full time, but may also be negotiated on a part time/ job share or secondment basis where appropriate, which will be discussed with the successful candidate.
If you are interested in joining us at this exciting time and would relish the challenge of playing a part in the future development of the programme and Three Counties Medical School, then please apply today.
What's in it for you?
