About us
UCL Careers provides careers education to current students, graduates and staff of UCL, as well as recruitment solutions for employers. UCL Careers provides a ‘core’ service for students as well as bespoke support within some academic areas, including UCL’s School of Management (SoM).
The UCL School of Management is home to UCL’s business and management research and education programmes, and has a reputation for world-leading research and teaching.
About the role
The Senior Employer Engagement Officer (SoM) will support undergraduate students on programmes including the BSc Information Management for Business (IMB) in the first instance and will line manage the Employer Engagement Officer. From September 2025 a new undergraduate BSc in International Management will be launching, and the post-holder will be responsible for leading the planning and development of a new suite of employer/alumni activities both within and outside the curriculum in relation to this programme.
The post holder will be required to work within the SoM Careers Team and alongside the Programme Directors to lead, manage and develop relationships with employers that our students aspire to work for, across designated sectors of interest. They will then work with these employers to devise and facilitate activities that will support our students to understand the latest information on the opportunities available to them, and to prepare them to excel in the recruitment process.
Interviews will take place at the Bloomsbury campus on Wednesday 14th August.
About you
The role holder would ideally have a background in Finance, Management Consultancy or Technology, or an interest in these areas, so they have a good appreciation and understanding of our students’ key sectors of interest. They should have experience of liaison, engagement and networking with a range of stakeholders, developing and maintaining effective relationships for the benefit of all parties. They should be an excellent presenter and facilitator, with the organisational skills to plan ahead, as well as the ability to define and report against performance metrics to determine measures of success.
This is an exciting role working with an international student body and a range of stakeholders across UCL School of Management, UCL’s alumni community and with UK and international graduate employers. The role holder should enjoy trialling new initiatives, working in an environment of change and growth, and have a passion for supporting the career development of others.
