The Strathclyde Institute of Education seeks to appoint a GTCS-registered Teaching Fellow with specific responsibility for leading the PGDE Chemistry. The post-holder will also teach on STEM-related modules within the Institute, and across a range of other activities within the Institute. S/he will engage in knowledge exchange and research.
FTE: 1.0 (35 hours per week)

The Strathclyde Institute of Education seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow with a particular focus on Chemistry Education from early August 2024. The Strathclyde Institute of Education at the University of Strathclyde is the largest provider of teacher education in Scotland. We have a range of courses at national and international level that focus on initial and qualified teacher education at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The successful candidate will have academic and professional experience that allows them to adopt specific responsibility for teaching the PGDE Chemistry and teaching other STEM-related modules. They will be expected to be GTCS registered as a key element of the role will be to undertake school placement visits to assess students. In addition to STEM and PGDE Chemistry input, the post-holder will teach on other courses within the Institute’s portfolio, including supervision of Masters-level dissertations. They will also be expected to engage in scholarship and knowledge exchange activities and contribute to the wider activity of the Institute.
