About us
UCL Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care (IEHC) is comprised of 250 staff, 100 research students and 200 taught and undergraduate students. Expertise in epidemiology, medical statistics, health psychology, sociology, health economics, public health, primary care, public policy, and improvement science is found throughout our interdisciplinary teams, which are located across the following three research departments:

About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the role of Institute Finance Lead.
The post holder will be a key member of the Institute’s professional services leadership team, with significant responsibility for the financial affairs of the Institute at both the strategic and operational levels.
The post offers an exciting opportunity for someone to play a key role in the financial management of a highly successful and dynamic Institute, as well as benefiting from the opportunities afforded by being part of the larger financial and administrative community of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences and administrative areas across the University.
As a member of the Institute’s professional services leadership team, the postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Institute’s general finance and research administration staff (currently 4 direct reports) as well as dotted-line ma nagement to other members of Professional Services staff in order to provide support and career development.
The post holder will have oversight of research grant management and monitoring, staffing, training, and taking forward new initiatives and developments.

About you
The successful candidate will have substantial experience working in a finance role that carries responsibility. They will have experience of budget management including planning and forecasting, account reconciliation, data analysis and research administration.
They will have excellent communication and IT skills including Microsoft Office, online administrative systems within HEIs, including HR systems, financial systems and grant management tools (e.g.Worktribe) with the ability to make and carry out timely and data-led decisions.
