A Department of Chemistry Postdoctoral Research Associate position with Dr Yi Jin is available for 2 years. The post holder will develop, design, and implement the experiments to synthesise the carbohydrate substrates of the bacterial pathway, plasmid design and cloning, enzyme production and purification, and BSL2 organism handling. This post would suit an outstanding and ambitious scientist with experience in synthetic chemistry and recombinant protein production in E. coli, who is interested in developing a range of skills across a number of different projects. You should be capable of working under your own initiative and taking a leading role in a research team, so excellent communication and organisational skills are also required. You should have, or be working towards, a PhD in chemistry, biocatalysis, chemical biology or a related subject.
