An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Procurement Services to join the Finance, Planning and Governance division to lead the delivery of procurement activity at UEA.
Reporting into the Associate Director, Procurement and Insurance, the key duties of the role include working collaboratively with the Associate Director to implement a procurement strategy which supports the delivery of the University's Strategy 2030 and meets the legislative requirements of the Procurement Act 2023. You will be responsible for leading the procurement team to ensure the highest quality procurement activity in order to drive value for money and good commercial outcomes. In addition to providing management and leadership support to the team, the Head of Procurement role at UEA is a practitioner role and will be expected to deliver direct procurement activity and category management to generate value in key categories of expenditure.
You will have significant experience in complex procurement environments across a range of expenditure categories, with Digital/IT and Estates/Construction being particularly desirable. Line management and staff development experience is essential and demonstrable experience of delivering value for your previous organisations in procurement roles is expected. Public Sector Procurement experience is an advantage but is not essential.
This full-time post is available on an indefinite basis.
UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working.
