The role
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated senior leader to join the Faculty to support the management of the School of Modern Languages.
You will be joining a growing Faculty during a period of significant change presenting a unique opportunity to help shape the approach we take to managing our newly formed school.
You will have the chance to lead staff as the faculty continues to embed our new structure (implemented at the beginning of the 2023/24 academic year) and contribute to real improvements for staff and students in how we deliver our services.
What will you be doing?
Working in close partnership with the Head of School (HoS) on all facets of school administration, the School Manager (SM) assumes a crucial position in the school. You will aid the Head of School to carry out their academic leadership duties by offering professional guidance and assistance.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in senior management, including knowledge of work practices, strong leadership skills, policy implementation, project research, and health and safety regulations. They will have excellent planning and coordination skills, sound financial training, and be highly flexible with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities underpinned by excellent computer literacy skills.
The successful candidate will possess a proven ability to interact effectively, operate in a collegial culture, command respect, and understand academic disciplines. They will have knowledge of the higher education sector, current issues, and regulations, and be well-versed in the implications of non-compliance.
