The role
The Research Administration Team at the University of Bristol Business School is seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active Administrative Assistant to help support their research activities.
Being a relatively new Business School, the Research Administration Team has expanded to reflect the wide variety of developing research activities and priorities in the school. Now comprising of six people, the team is split into two core areas: Research Funding and Operations, and Impact, Engagement and the Research Excellence Framework (REF). This role will be split across both sides, with tasks including booking travel and catering for Research Group/Academic Group activities and other events, sending out school-wide communications in the form of newsletters and updating SharePoint pages, and helping to track impact and engagement activities by using different systems and maintaining an awareness of activities happening in the school. There will also be a variety of ad-hoc administrative tasks as new research activities are developed. This will provide opportunities for the successful applicant to learn more about research in higher education and develop hard skills using different systems, as well as having an input in developing new team activities and ways of working.
The role will be based in Howard House, and it is expected that the position holder will work on campus four days a week and the fifth day from home (with some flexibility depending on activities).
