Working in collaboration with colleagues internally and externally, our passionate Marketing team (part of our Marketing and Student Services Directorate) strives to develop a data and insights-led approach to Marketing, driving performance across a range of audiences and channels, while reflecting our new identity and brand.

The Role As a Data Analyst, you will support the development and delivery of our acquisition strategy for the University of Hull by communicating performance insight from across our Marketing media mix and website. By leading on the development of data reports, visualisations and models, you will be able to handle complex datasets with accuracy and thoroughness, and grow our omnichannel learnings to maximise the opportunities across University touchpoints.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the post

  1. Design and maintain marketing reports, visualisations and dashboards that bring information to life, for effective communication of findings and insights to internal stakeholders, including SLT, marketing teams, and relevant faculties.
  2. Design, build, and test data models that provide performance insight across our marketing mix and website, for strategic planning and reactive tactical updates.
  3. Extract, clean, and transform data, handle complex datasets with accuracy and thoroughness, transforming it into industry standard, valuable insights for best practice decision making
  4. Automate previously manual queries that underpin critical analysis and strategic initiatives.
  5. Grow our omnichannel perspective by establishing and optimizing specific reporting solutions across various digital touchpoints (our website, social platforms, CRM, and more)

Preferred Requirements:

  1. Experience working as a Digital/ Web Analyst. Demonstrated knowledge in Analytics, with an aptitude for troubleshooting and quality assurance of data. Marketing experience beneficial.
  2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyse complex data sets
  3. Self-motivated, with a growth mindset that embraces challenges, fosters creativity, and seeks continuous improvement in data analysis techniques
  4. Experience in using analytical tools such as Azure technology, SQL, Power BI, GA 4, etc. or similar
  5. Aptitude to model data, formulate conclusions and present opportunities effectively
  6. Fully conversant in analytics and statistical concepts.
  7. Experience with attribution mapping/modelling.
