About the Role

As a Campus Dean you play a pivotal role in developing and nurturing our campus environment. Your primary focus will be on optimising the campus space to create an effective learning environment and fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all students. You will lead key operational areas, including estates, timetabling, student wellbeing, and events, ensuring our students are supported and inspired.

What You'll Do:

  • Leadership and Management: Provide dynamic leadership to ensure the campus is a welcoming, inclusive, and brand-aligned setting for students. Lead strategic initiatives to enhance student life, campus culture, and facilities management.
  • Student Experience: Drive the delivery of a successful student experience, utilising feedback from the National Student Survey and other student voice mechanisms. Ensure effective cross-departmental collaboration and manage budgets to support student success.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee locally delivered university services such as estates, student wellbeing, events, assessment administration, and timetabling. Collaborate with Heads of School to create an excellent academic environment.
  • Collaboration: Work with central functions, including Student Services and Estates, to promote student wellbeing. Act as the designated safeguarding lead and support Heads of School in managing student success concerns.
  • Community Engagement: Develop local cultural partnerships and foster collaboration between student groups and community initiatives. Participate in university governance platforms to enhance the cohesive academic character and broader student experience.
  • Regulation and Governance: Take direction from the Director of Academic Services and Deputy Provost on matters related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and compliance. Collaborate with Marketing, Recruitment & Admissions on student recruitment activities.
  • Data Management: Ensure effective data collection, monitoring, and reporting on key activities and outcomes.

What You'll Bring:

  • A degree or equivalent qualifications/experience in the creative arts or industry, with extensive experience in leadership and management roles within Higher Education.
  • Proven track record in improving the student experience, particularly regarding facilities, community, and student life. Expertise in space utilisation and understanding contemporary student life issues.
  • Strong evidence of successful delivery of collaborative initiatives and projects. Excellent communication, negotiation skills, and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to embodying and promoting BIMM’s values through visible and effective leadership.

Salary: £62,400 to £80,000 depending on experience
