We have a flourishing academic culture in Law, centred around our BU Law Community and the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management (CIPPM). We are recognised as a global leader in Intellectual Property scholarship, and in Human Rights and Missing Person research where Professor Klinkner has attracted £1.6 million in funding from the European Research Council (ERC) to develop a comprehensive human rights framework around mass graves (MagPIE project). We have excellent support for research at all levels of the University with a research ecology focused on mentorship and support. Your research will either be an in area of our current provision or in an emergent area of Law. You will demonstrate the ability to develop and deliver proposals and applications/bids for external funding. In addition, the post holder will be involved in the development of research groupings to build our research culture and environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are seeking to recruit a talented Lecturer in Law to join our team. You will have the ability to develop innovative learning experiences for students in online, blended and face to face delivery. You will have the experience and ability to teach flexibly across Foundation Subjects. It is essential you demonstrate an ability to teach the following law subjects – Corporate Law and Governance and Business Law and Practice. You join a team committed to equality, diversity, sustainability and embedding these principles in everything we do.
You will have a Doctorate in Law, or a Masters equivalent with the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level, or you will have the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from date of appointment.
This position will not typically meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System , unless exceptional circumstances apply, e.g. meeting the ‘new entrant’ criteria.
