The role
Applications are invited for the role of School Research Manager based in the School for Policy Studies. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist the School Manager, Executive Administration Manager and Research Director in planning, implementing and supporting research administration processes and activities to meet the school’s research and impact objectives.
What will you be doing?
The role holder will facilitate the co-ordination and submission of the school’s research projects and will support the Research Director by managing the peer-review process for small and medium internal and external funding applications. The role holder will also support the Research Excellence Framework (REF), support the School’s Research Committees, monitor research budgets, oversee the co-ordination of some of the school’s research events, and will manage a small team of Research Centre Administrators.

The scope of the role is wide ranging; we are looking for an individual who excels in managing multiple projects/tasks, uses their initiative, is incredibly proactive, and can seek out and make improvements to a process or project.
The role holder will need to establish successful working relationships with academics, multiple administrative teams, and project partners and funders. This role would appeal to someone looking to develop a career in research administration.
