About the role
This Research Fellowship is a unique opportunity for an interdisciplinary social researcher with a strong interest developing and applying mixed-method approaches to the study of environmental behaviours within the newly formed ESRC Behavioural Research Leadership Hub (BR-UK). BR-UK is a new consortium funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) that serves as a leadership hub within the wider ESRC programme to build national capability for behavioural research to address societal challenges. Led by University of Edinburgh and UCL, BRUK spans eight leading UK universities working collaboratively to create a focal point for behavioural science research across domains including Environment and Sustainability; Health and Wellbeing; Resilient Communities: and Organisations, Markets and the Economy Working. This post will take a leading role within the Environment and Sustainability Theme led by Prof. David Shipworth (UCL) and Prof. Nick Pidgeon (Cardiff). The successful candidate will spend the first 12 months working on analysis of a new major multinational survey, the OECD Environmental and Individual Behaviour Change (EPIC) Survey. This quantitative analysis will help governments understand the extent to which findings can be transferred between environmental behavioural domains and national contexts. The work programme for the remainder of the grant will be determined by the team (with input from the Research Fellow) over the first 12 months. The post has funding until the 31/10/2028 in the first instance, further funding to support the post may be available.
